Gordon Square 4th Floor Refurbishment Completed for SOAS University of London

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the 4th floor refurbishment at Gordon Square for SOAS University of London.

The project involved transforming an existing flat within the historic Gordon Square estate into a new hospitality space for the University, creating a welcoming environment for events and gatherings.

Working within an occupied building presented several logistical challenges that required careful planning and coordination. To ensure safe and efficient access to the work area, our team utilised a temporary hoist, while taking great care to minimise disruption to building users throughout the construction process.

Kieran O’Shea, Interior Designer on the project, commented:

“Beardwell Construction Limited have been a pleasure to work with throughout the duration of the project. The entire team have been cooperative and have shown a real willingness to go above and beyond to deliver the best project possible – right down to hanging the artwork and ensuring light fittings were set at the correct height at the end.

Despite the day-to-day challenges of working within an occupied building and with difficult access, the team remained patient and adaptable throughout. It truly felt like we were all working as one team.

The finished project looks exactly like the drawings. No detail has been overlooked and the quality of finish throughout is excellent. It’s clear the Beardwell team take enormous pride in their work, and that really shows in the final result.”

A fantastic effort from everyone involved in bringing this project together and delivering a high-quality new space for the University.
