We are delighted to have handed over the new dining hall project at Highworth Grammar School, Ashford – ahead of schedule. The contract required the construction of a new steel framed extension and the improvement of adjacent areas. As a result, a new large flexible space has been created. This will be used for dining, functions or split into classrooms.
The main challenges involved a difficult access route and the need to avoid disruption to the school. The delivery of materials and the movement of personnel were therefore carefully planned and effective communication maintained at all times.
Essential to successful outcome of the project were the early appointment of key subcontractors and detailed reviews with the Client and Designer. This created a ‘One Team’ approach with a focus upon delivering a first class project on time and within budget. Teamwork and collaboration really does work!
